Dr. Liam Pender, President & CEO

Dr. Liam Pender is a recognized pioneer in fiber optic design with over fifteen years in a leading engineering role. As President of Egret Technologies, he has been responsible for business development and technical direction. Prior to this, Dr. Pender was Engineering Director at Tellabs where he managed all aspects of the first release of "FiberDirect" (now Tellabs 1000) product. He has also held engineering posts with Advanced Fiber Communications (AFC), Racal-Datacom, and British Telecom. An author of multiple papers in High Capacity Optical Transmission Systems he is responsible for novel innovations in PON technology. Dr. Pender holds a bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering and a Ph.D. in Optical Physics, both from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.

Mr. Ronald Diego, VP Engineering

Mr. Diego is an industry veteran in telecommunications engineering management. He has experience in leading large teams on complex product developments. Ron has a thirty year history of embedded systems hardware, software and firmware development. Prior to Egret Technologies he headed hardware development for Advanced Fiber Communications where he consistently delivered high quality product under aggressive schedule pressures. Previously, Ron held key positions in UTEC, Siemens and DXO. With a BSEE from NJIT, Mr. Diego is a teacher and lecturer in schools and industry.
